Relocating Skid Sprayer Frame Production to Vietnam

Facing international trade uncertainty, a new U.S. client needed to shift their Skid Sprayer Frame production from China to Vietnam. We executed this migration in just 10 months. Crucially, we established a fully localized supply chain—sourcing all raw materials within Vietnam—to ensure the client is completely insulated from tariff pressures and trade volatility.

1. Understanding the Customer’s Requirement

After a comprehensive analysis of the customer’s drawings, technical standards, and annual demand, we immediately began selecting a Vietnam factory. The key requirement was that this factory must provide an end-to-end local Vietnamese supply chain—from raw materials to finished goods—to fully address and eliminate tariff risks. Our action ensured a rapid and stable project takeover. (See Figure 3: Certificate of Origin for Raw Materials)

2. Vietnam Factory Visit & Capability Verification

Our Vietnam team visited several suppliers and finally selected one that met the customer’s needs.

During the on-site inspection, we checked:

  • Production capacity for cutting, welding, and machining

  • Fixture preparation and welding consistency

  • Quality-control workflow and measurement tools

  • Production stability and delivery capability

3. On-Site Process Follow-Up by Dewin Team

Before samples were made, our team stayed in the factory to follow each production step closely.
We recorded key processes to ensure the supplier’s capability and stability:

  • Tube Cutting

  • Tube Welding

  • Tube Surface Grinding

These steps ensured the factory could meet the customer’s welding accuracy and dimensional requirements.

4. First Sample Batch Completed

Once the process was confirmed, the factory produced the first samples.
We carried out full inspections:

  • Welding flatness & penetration

  • Tube alignment & dimensions

  • Hole distance & hole-diameter accuracy

  • Surface grinding & finish quality

5. Mass Production Finished & Ready for Shipment

With samples approved by the customer, the factory moved into mass production.
All frames completed welding, grinding, QC checks, packing, and were ready for shipment.

Summary

This project shows how quickly a full supply-chain transition can be completed when sourcing, engineering, and on-site QC are aligned.
If you’re considering moving production to Vietnam or building a dual-country supply chain, we can help you evaluate factories, develop samples, and manage production from start to finish.
