For the development of new products, customers often can only provide a general idea or sketch, and the required products often involve new areas, which requires our team to have rich experience and profound understanding of the machinery industry, be able to quickly investigate the market for any kind of product, and identify the most professional and suitable suppliers.

Recently, we helped an old customer to develop a new product. The old customer is the manufacturer of armored vehicles. The revolving tower on the top of the armored vehicle will use the slewing bearing. He hopes that we can help him develop it.

Looking for suppliers

At the beginning of this project, the customer only provided the inner diameter, outer diameter and maximum bearing max load of the bearing. Our purchasing team extensively searched for and screened suppliers with bearings of similar size in the market to provide customers with choices. Finally, the customer selected a supplier.

After communicating with the factory, we sent the catalogue to the customer for selection. The customer chose one of them and wants to place a large order for 800pcs immediately. We recommend that the customer not buy so much at once, but can first place a sample list for testing. The customer listened to our suggestions and bought a sample. It was found that there were some mismatches in this sliding bearing. Moreover, this supplier only produces standard type bearings, and has no ability to customize products.

Sample testing

We re selected a bearing supplier with customized processing capacity for the customer, designed three drawings with the same size but different installation structures for the customer, and produced 12 samples for each design for the customer to test.
